- The cable and DC wires use bare copper conductors and bare copper shields, to ensure the video transmission is high quality and to minimize the voltage drop of 12V DC power through the cable
- Due to the high cost of copper material, many CCTV cables use steel wire coated with copper (CCS), and single or double cheap aluminum polyester foil shield instead of bare copper shield. These cables cannot deliver high quality video and 2V DC power properly, and absorb interference easily
